Lech Walesa

Born September 29, 1943, Popowo, Poland
He is a Polish politician, a former trade union and human rights activist, and also a former electrician. He is one of the founders of Solidarność (Solidarity), the first independent trade union in the communist block. He won the Nobel Prize for Peace in 1983. He served as President of Poland from 1990 to 1995.
